micah & nellie.

this couple...
makes me smile.
i have known micah since we were four years old--and we have somehow managed to keep in touch ever since.
but i always wondered about the type of girl he would end up with...until i met nellie--and until i heard the way micah talked about nellie.
:) and they just make me smile.
they both are incredibly outdoorsy. (practically every weekend for the last few years i've asked him to hang out, micah's been gone on a fishing tournament.)
and they both have a real country-feel to them. (the first time i saw nellie, she was wearin her overalls, and i thought to myself: 'i think i'd like that girl'.)
so i wanted their engagement session to really reflect that.

this girl...
had just turned one!! :)
although she wasn't much for smilin and lookin my way this day, (but i mean, really--what one-year old is...??)

this couple...
is ridiculously adorable, (as you can see,) and extremely artsy.
darren is the guitarist for the band samestate.
and becky has her own etsy: here...and just entered the blog-world over here. (she's probably the most artistic person i know...always comin up with somethin grand.)
they wanted to take their engagement photos at the lake where becky grew up--and where their wedding will be held.
they are both very outdoorsy and incredibly loving people, so they & i wanted the photos to evoke that.

this boy...

had me come clear out to o'fallon, missouri to take his senior portraits. :)

we took some at lindenwood university, (where he had photos taken of him as a child,) and some in downtown st. charles.

i will tell you...i had more outrageously, silly pictures of him than "regular, nice" ones. (one day i will surprise everyone and make a post of the outtakes from their shoots. get ready.)

this girl...

came all the way from phoenix, arizona to have me shoot her senior portraits. ;)

she wanted her senior photos to have some kansas-aspects. (as well as some arizona-aspects that she got from a local photographer "back home"...)

-so we got some grass, trees, and train tracks in there for her.
